Fabric CIGARETTE TEST
\nCigarette test: what is it?
\nThe BS 5852 standard provides test methods for the use of composite upholstery materials.
\nThe aim of the test, according to British standards, is to measure the flammability of material for upholstered furniture in accordance with BS 5852 Ignition Source 1.
\nThese test methods assess the ability of these materials to burn when exposed to a lit cigarette or a burning object. During the test, gradual smouldering is observed, starting from the surface of the fabric or from inside the padding of the covering.
