\nCigarette test: what is it?
\nThe BS 5852 standard offers test methods for the use of composite upholstery materials.
\nThe aim of the test, according to British standards, is to measure the flammability of material for upholstered furniture according to BS 5852 Ignition Source 1.
\nUsing these test methods, the ability of these materials to burn when exposed to a lit cigarette or a flaming object is assessed. During the test, a gradual burning situation is observed, starting from the fabric surface or from inside the upholstery padding.
